Painted Wand Sokoban
My second PuzzleScript project ever. This was made for the Confounding Calendar 2024, and this is my first year of participating. The base premise of this Sokoban-style puzzler is that you do not interact with crates directly. Instead, you must stick them with your wand and drag them around - presuming the wand matches the color of the crate. Hopefully the goal isn't too obscure, as it was difficult jamming a proper mechanics tutorial in such a small playspace.
There are several issues with softlocks, and I couldn't figure out how to create a smart and simple checkpoint system, so hopefully you don't need to undo too many times. I do not expect to be featured, but I wanted to put something out there to show my appreciation for puzzle games and the community that surrounds them. Thank you to everyone who played, and please leave a comment!
CBA, and until next time-

Really nice! The mechanics feel intuitive, and I didn’t encounter any softlocks while playing.
The directional-wand mechanic had the potential to feel annoying, but the level design really supports it, making sure the player always has somewhere to manoeuvre around easily before entering a puzzle section.
Thank you for playing! Really nice to hear feedback on this stuff, keeps me motivated to improve and keep going!
Sausage Like Advanced 👍
For checkpoint can’t you just use this? (Wherever the player wants to checkpoint)
Or you wanna make checkpoint when some crates on target?
Thanks for responding! The reason I didn't want to include checkpoints can be boiled down to my poor level design. Had I designed the level in such a way that you couldn't get softlocked, or that it at least wasn't so easy to do by accident, I would have implemented a checkpoint system. Now checkpoints feel kind of redundant and unhelpful.
